The Command bar is the new Menu bar replacement. To the far right of the tabbed bar is the Command bar. To the immediate right is the Add Tab button. Under the Favorites toolbar is the new tabbed browsing view, which shows a tab for the current page or a tab view and tab navigation drop-down arrow. This toolbar is for quick access to favorites, and to add new favorites, suggested sites, more add-ons.

Under the Menu bar is the Favorites toolbar. IE 8 tries to give the user the most display real estate for viewing Web pages and has disabled this Menu bar by default. The Menu bar is similar to the IE Menu bar of the past with options for File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help. The Menu bar may also be displayed if enabled (not enabled by default). The top of the browser has the IE 8 toolbar, which has the Forward button, Back button, navigation arrow, Address bar, and Search bar. Figure 4.42 illustrates the general layout of the IE 8 window.

IE 8 should look very similar to earlier versions of IE and to any other Web browser as they generally have the same layout.
